Apple is preparing to unveil a complete redesign of the user interface of its devices, codenamed Liquid Glass. According to authoritative insider Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the company's new design language will feature unique visual effects, including semi-transparent interface elements with light reflections reminiscent of reflections on a glass surface. These changes will affect toolbars, app interfaces, and system controls. This is not just a cosmetic update — Apple rarely makes such large-scale changes to its ecosystem.
The last fundamental redesign of the Apple interface occurred in 2013 with the release of iOS 7, when the company abandoned skeuomorphism in favor of a flat, minimalist design. The Liquid Glass project is particularly significant because it could be released as early as 2027, which will mark the 20th anniversary of the iPhone. According to sources, the anniversary iPhone model will feature a revolutionary design with curved glass edges around the entire perimeter, ultra-thin bezels, and a notch-free screen. This approach is perfectly in line with the new interface philosophy.
Experts note that Apple Vision Pro inspires Liquid Glass. It will likely be part of a global strategy to unify the user experience across all of the company's devices. The updated design is expected to appear in all Apple operating systems, from iOS to tvOS. The technology was first publicly unveiled on 9 June 2025 at WWDC.
